Ever since then I have always known that she is artistic. Lately though, I have become the skeptic. She'll bring home a picture from school and I catch myself questioning her. "Did you really make this?" "Are you sure you made this?" "Did you trace it?" Even I am surprised by how far her ability has progressed.
She doesn't color much anymore, and truth be told, she doesn't try to color as well as she used to, but her illustration has taken on a life of its own.
Had I not seen it with my own eyes I don't know that I would have ever believed her latest creation was really hers. But I did see it and I watched in amazement as she starred at a stuffed animal and carefully duplicated its look with that same attention to detail she has always had...
And then there he was. His name is "Parrot" - and while her drawing skills have become super sophisticated her naming skills still leave much to be desired. :) But seriously, I think "Parrot" is her finest work yet and he's going to be finding a new home in a picture frame very soon.
"I'm a believer!" I told her.
Her response?
"I am still an artist."
Yes, yes you are dear. And the proof is in the parrot.
That's AWESOME Miss Alex!! :)
